Golden Globe-winning actress Barbara Rush dies at 97
Former soap star Barbara Rush has died at 97, her daughter Claudia Cowan announced Sunday.
“My wonderful mother passed away peacefully at 5:28 this evening,” the Fox News correspondent told Fox News Digital. “I was with her this morning and know she was waiting for me to return home safely to transition. It’s fitting she chose to leave on Easter as it was one of her favorite holidays and now, of course, Easter will have a deeper significance for me and my family.”
No cause of death was given.
Rush was a Golden Globe Award-winning actress best known for her work on “All My Children” (as Nora Orsini) “Peyton Place” (as Marsha Russell) and “7th Heaven.” She received a Golden Globe for her performance in 1953′s “It Came From Outer Space” and worked with big names like Frank Sinatra, Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. Her 100-plus film and TV credits also include “Bigger Than Life,” “Magnificent Obsession,” “Mannix,” “The Love Boat,” “Knight Rider,” “Fantasy Island,” “Murder, She Wrote” and “Magnum, P.I.”
Rush is survived by two children, according to ET.
