The Thanksgiving Cowboys-Giants game broke a record.

You wouldn't have been the only person to watch the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants game this week while feasting on turkey and cranberry sauce.

On Friday, FOX Sports announced that the Cowboys-Giants Thanksgiving Day divisional match up had broken a fairly astounding record.

The game, which the Cowboys won 28-20, likely benefited from an increase in viewers who watched it on FOX streaming services.

The impact of streaming alone appears minimal in comparison to the previous record,

which was set in a game between the Giants and the San Francisco 49ers in December 1990.

It helps that both the 8-3 Cowboys and the 7-4 Giants are playing outstanding football this season.

The Cowboys, in particular, also tend to lure in the viewers in bunches on Thanksgiving.
