The Match Makes a Decision Regarding Phil Mickelson.

The Match is no longer connected to Phil Mickelson.

The legendary golfer faced off against Tiger Woods in the inaugural episode of The Match in 2018. Since then, he has appeared in three additional iterations of the occasion.

Bryan Zuriff, the creator and producer of The Match, commented on Mickelson's departure on Friday.

Zuriff told Sports Illustrated that Phil "was a wonderful collaborator and he helped construct this thing." He performed quite well in this show.

However, he opted for a chance and went in a different direction. Our program continues because viewers enjoy it.

The last time Mickelson played The Match was in July 2021, when he teamed up with NFL quarterback Tom Brady to compete against Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers.

As a result of Mickelson's decision to join the contentious LIV golf series, which is supported by Saudi Arabia, the golf community has strongly objected. On December 10,

at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will square off against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in the next episode of The Match.
