Qatar made history by being the first host nation to be eliminated from the World Cup.

After losing to Senegal 3-1 on Friday, Qatar became the first World Cup host nation to be eliminated after just two games. Even if there is still one more group round,

it is mathematically impossible for the 2022 World Cup hosts to be among the top two teams in Group A and advance to the next round. Both the Netherlands and Ecuador

won their opening matches of the competition; Ecuador defeated Qatar 2-0; and both teams tied 1-1 on Friday. Following Senegal's victory over Qatar, it has three points,

giving them a total of four. Even with a victory over the Netherlands on Tuesday, Qatar will only have three points. With its two pivotal goals, Senegal separated the halves.

Just three minutes after halftime, Famara Diedhiou scored the game-winning goal after Boulaye Did's 41st-minute goal.Senegal won the match with a goal from Bamba Dieng

in the 84th minute after Mohammed Muntari had scored for Qatar in the 78th minute.Even if it was a long shot for Qatar to advance to the knockout stages going into the tournament,

the nation's elimination after just two games is a major letdown for a nation that spent more than a decade preparing for the World Cup.

The only other nations to be eliminated from the World Cup in the group stage are Qatar and South Africa. while it was simple to support South Africa

12 years ago, there are definitely millions of people around the world who are not disappointed that Qatar's World Cup won't get past the group stage given the numerous

scandals that surround this competition. The United States Department of Justice claims that some FIFA officials were paid bribes to support Qatar as the tournament host.
