For showing Iran disrespect, the United States may be BANNED from the 2022 World Cup.

The Iranian football federation has requested that the United States be banned from the 2022 World Cup.

U.S. officials claimed they didn't want to use the official flag to show "support for the women in Iran fighting for basic human rights" in the midst of widespread

protests against the Iranian government on Tuesday, so they removed the Islamic Republic emblem from the Iranian flag on social media graphics. The murder of Mahsa Amini,

a 22-year-old woman who had been held by morality police for allegedly violating strict restrictions around head coverings, in jail in September provoked widespread demonstrations

in Iran. It was reported by Iran's state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency that the United States Football Federation's Instagram page "in an unethical behavior" deleted the

Allah symbol from the Iranian flag. Iran's soccer federation "wrote an email to FIFA demanding that the organisation issue a strong warning to the US federation."

However, if this goes ahead, the United States might be banned from the World Cup as per FIFA regulations. A suspension of at least 10 matches or a defined duration,

or any other appropriate disciplinary punishment, may be taken against any person who offends the dignity or integrity of a country, person, or group of people,

as stated in seSectionction 13 of FIFA rules. That would mean, improbable though it may be, that Iran would be handed a bye into the round of 16.

To advance to the next round, Iran must beat the United States, unless Wales beats England by a score of 4-0.
