Astros defeat Yankees to advance to World Series for fourth time in six years.

Leaning on a rising star and a plethora of established ones, they returned to a place that now appears to be a birthright for the Houston Astros and doubled down on

their domination. The Astros entered Yankee Stadium and destroyed a weak nemesis, sweeping the New York Yankees in the American Championship Series and

qualifying for their fourth World Series in the previous six seasons. This came five years after winning a World Series in part thanks to an illegal sign-stealing operation and

three years after their sleazy scheme was made public. The turning point occurred Sunday night when a Yankee error allowed for a two-run rally that was capped by

Alex Bregman's game-winning single, giving the Astros a 6-5 victory and a matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies in the Fall Classic.

Game 1 will take place in Houston, Alabama, on Friday. Favorite for the Cy Young Award Justin Verlander will probably face either Zack Wheeler or Aaron Nola for the Phillies.

The Phillies enter the game on a high after defeating the San Diego Padres in a wild five-game National League Championship Series,

but they will encounter an altogether different beast in Minute Maid Park.

The Yankees' poor performance in the second half eliminated their hopes of winning the World Series for the 28th time, and the Astros ended those hopes.
