Aaron Rodgers says that if the player wants to keep playing.

The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers have had a difficult season.

The MVP quarterback has been suffering with a nasty oblique strain while also playing with a fractured thumb. Does he truly want to keep playing through the discomfort with

the Packers out of the playoff picture? On Sunday night, Rodgers was questioned about it.

The Packers quarterback says he intends to continue playing as long as his club has a mathematical chance of making the playoffs.

Rodgers stated he wanted to continue playing despite his injured thumb and ribs "as long as we're mathematically alive," according to a tweet from Tom Silverstein.

After losing to Philadelphia on Sunday night, Green Bay's record fell to 4-8 for the year.

It is unlikely that the Packers will be mathematically eligible for the playoffs for very long.

At some point in the near future, Rodgers might be suspended.
